Sometimes, I think people are too clingy to their past. They seem to grasp, gold, cling and
smother any part of their past that might hold them closer to the past, that might delay the
change of their life. But life... it moves, it flows, runs, zigs and zags... it moves on, whether
you move with it or not. We can stay in our past, we can only remember it. Thats what life is;
moments. But if you're still thinking over past ones, you will never have new ones.
My advice, that of course is given from my own expeirience and belief, is try something new
whenever you can. Keep moving forward, and NEVER let your past hold you down. We only
have a certain amount of beats from our heart, but you can decide whether it beats fast from
excitement, or growns with a dull thud from sitting still...

Holding onto what happened 20 years ago does nothing but make you a bitter and twisted person. I know people who do this and it has made them very negative people.
Were we to drive a car forwards while looking only in the rear vision mirror, we would crash - same with life. |

especially if time travel was invented because then some cars would be going the other way and that could be quite nasty... |

Points Whore 804 points | | Well I have mixed views about that, I cling to the past because of experiences................... I have seen some pretty horrible f**king things and done things I would not normally do in normal life!!!, the only way that can avoided wars and violence in the future is to remind ourselves constantly of the horrible things that have happened in past history.............................but this does not mean that I dwell on it if you know what I mean...............so yes in some ways I do live in the past x |

Mega Über-Meister 3726 points | Thank you all for your replies, I'm glad some got a good read out of it.
To add to it, I think we should never forget our past, just don't live in it. The past is a lesson
in which you need only think about in order to learn. Really, that's all learning is, thinking. So
learn well, learn a lot and make sure mistakes don't repeat, but instead are used to aid in a
more desirable life.  |
