Let's just say I had my ups and downs in the past.
I was literally a baby when my parents got divorced and I've rarely seen my birth father since then. After my parents got divorced, Mom and I moved in with my three unmarried aunts in their uncle and aunt's house. I had a happy life living with my three aunts. Mom was mostly at work to bring the bread and butter for us. Even so, she came home every night, and stayed home every weekend.
And then, when I was three and a half years old, Mom met with my late stepfather (Oom Klaas -- he was a Netherlands Dutch), and then introduced him to the family. They got married a year after that. |
