Mysteriously mysterious!
Public entry My new boss is a bit ... intimidating!
April 21, 2008 @ 02:19:26 am

Today was only my second day on the job and my boss has already gotten on my case. She's kind of scary.

For those who don't already know, I got a job at a pizzeria close to my home. I'm getting paid $6.85 an hour. Well, today I got yelled at for a few things:
A.) I was making a pizza I've never made before and I put the ham on top of the cheese not below.
B.) I got blamed for something I didn't do with the chicken.
C.) I was supposed to leave at 9 but right at nine we started to get a lot of orders and there was only 2 other people in the kitchen so I thought I'd help out just a little longer.

They have cameras of the kitchen in their house so that when she isn't there she can watch us. She calls in if someone isn't doing what they're supposed to be doing. It's kind of creepy because it's obvious she watches it all the time. (By the number of times she would call telling someone something they're doing wrong in one day)

Put a piece of paper over the camera. What sort of a boss watches over every single move like that? She may as well be down there, if all is doing at home is watching what is happening at work..

Make sure you ask lots of questions. If she gets angry at them, you know you have a bad boss. I hope it all starts to smooth out a little bit more in the near future.

I used to work at a store where i would be the only one in there.
The owner had a video camera behind the counter where she could see it from home.
I hated it. She would call me to tell me to not sit down and it just generally freaked me out. I eventually quit because i couldnt stop thinking about the fact that someone was watching every little thing i did.

Ask her a very simple question: "This is my second day, and perfection takes time. Are you not prepared to help me reach it faster?"

Also, nice to see you posting every once in a while, miss you tons

I don't know the laws where you live, but where I live I think that may be against the law, who knows where else they have cameras, did you check the washrooms, cause if they have one in there it definitely IS against the law. Either way it's just NOT right, can you find another place of employment?? That's just plain weird JMO

No, my mom said that it's not illegal. She actually said that most places in ohio have them. She said that most owners just don't watch it very often. Ours definitely watches it a LOT though. Kind of scares me.

I would get another job (or try to) but getting this one job took me FOREVER and I need the money so.. I don't know if getting a new one is going to happen anytime soon.
