Public entry House hunting
January 16, 2008 @ 07:32:40 pm
My Daughter has sold her flat and is looking for a semi house in a certain area,is there anything worst than house hunting? Oh the disappointment, they look so good on the estate agents photos, and most are grotty in real life

There is an art to reading the crap the estate agents print.

"In an up and coming area" Read "Ghetto"

"Potential for improvements" Read "Slum"

"Potential for expansion" Read "Shoe Box"

Never trust those scoundrels.

In need of refurbishment - only the scaffolding is holding it up

Friendly neighbourhood - curtain twitching nosey bastards

Close to amenities - next door to 24hour corner shop and on a busy bus route

Open to negotiation - deliberately overpriced

Escorted viewing only - Yeah I'll come with you, but I'll stand in the garden and don't expect me to actually know anything

Under Offer - No it's not but I gotta do something to drum up some interest

Sold - Unless a better offer comes in

About a month ago she found a house she liked put in the asking price and was accepted GREAT only thing the people that owned the house had not found anywhere else!!!! so give them time we said!!! they found somewhere had a builder look it over for alterations, then she heard nothing, her sale completes Mid March, got a call from the Estate Agents who said because it's going to cost more than they thought to move they want another 10 thousand for their property, luckly she had not had the house surveyed yet,but what are some people like what happened to not going back on your word, shaking hands on the deal, what sort of example are they showing their children, you can treat others anyway you like as long as you get what you need, well I hope this old saying come's true for them WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. She is now looking again but will have to store her stuff and move back in with us
