How? can it 'be' now?
That the feelings are all so wrong?
When once my heart
could have exploded inside me
with love for you - 'that strong'.
And I thought I knew you
so well then...
What revelations - 'time' can bring.
I look back at the past 'you'
with the you of 'now'
and 'none' of it, holds any meaning.
...I've taken alot of new steps,
and I'm grateful, for some, I 'didn't' take;
because the thoughts of you and I - 'together'
couldn't have been - a 'bigger' mistake.
...Now I see you
through the eyes of a stranger
where nothing, from scrutiny
- lays hid.
And it's hard to believe
I could ever have loved you.
