We've been looking for a dining table set for our new apartment, and so yesterday I found a really nice set about 30 miles from our place but at a really good price, simple, but solid wood, and in very good condition. So we go down there, pick up the table, tie it to the roof of the car, and put the chairs in the back. So the whole way home, I'm all paranoid about every single sign over the road, thinking we're gonna hit something and ruin the table. But amazingly, we get to our apartment complex no harm done. We pull into our parking lot, and then...pull into our COVERED parking stall, and hear CRACK! Low and behold, two of the legs are cracked and bent. *sigh*

It might be. My husband is gonna try to glue it with epoxy and put it in a vice grip. The problem is that epoxy is kind of brittle, so the table won't be as strong. I don't know how it'll look when we're done either. I was thinking of wrapping some twine rope around the tops of all four legs so it helps hide the glueing, and strengthen them, and looks like it's supposed to be that way, you know, sort of an artsy flair. I think I could get away with it because the table is a pretty simple style right now, so I don't think it would clash or anything.
