Instead of putting guns down because of the punks terrorizing you, learn how to use one and defend yourself. The only reason it's happening is because your government has taken away your to defend yourself and turned you into a door mate.

An armed society is a polite society.

What good comes from guns? I don't know...why don't you ask my sister since I was the one that grabbed a gun and bumped back at what went bump in the night by her window.

Hey I'm not that one that said that. I'm all for guns. I love them.

I know, I forgot to change the name. I think they're smart enough to realize that's not what you said.

Yeah. It's new this year from Remington. I don't know how it shoots and haven't heard anything about it. But I picked one up and got a feel for it and liked it quite a bit. But I'll have to read some reviews and stuff before I buy it.

You going to keep it stock or have the action put in a McMillan/ HS precision? Bedded and free floated? Optics?

You got a debit card? Order it from Cabela's or Midwayusa.com

it'll be about the same price as the store due to shipping but at least you can just have it shipped to you and not have to worry about the cash burning a whole in your pocket. Buy it and forget it.

I have a debit card. I have a Cabela's card on the way though. I'll use that when I go to buy a new rifle so I can get points for it. I'm going up to the Cabelas store in a few months probably. I'll check to make sure they don't have anything better in my price range. But I think that's the one I want.

And I'm not sure about the scope yet. The best way to buy a scope, or any optics, is to go to a place like cabelas and just go through them all picking a spot far off and looking through each one in your price range. Because everyone's eyes are different. I know some people that see better through a cheap Tasco than a Leopold. I like the Nikon but I can't remember what model it is.

You might find a Savage I don't know if you'd like them any better. I got an old Savage 340C.One of the best 30-30 bolt gun ever made. Don't make'm anymore.

Check out Tikka and Sako rifles if they have them. From what little I've heard about them they're pretty good. Both from Finland if I remember right. I don't remember how much one of those goes for though.

I'm not a big fan of Savage and don't know alot about the others you said. I'll have to check into them.

Oh gawd, I don't know how some people can stand tasco optics. I had a few and they were all POS. The Leupold Military grade scopes are pretty nice. If rifle platforms weren't so freakin expensive to start with I'd put together a custom scout rifle with one of those on a Badger Ordnance rail and rings.

Yeah I don't like Tasco's either. But everyone's got different eyes. It's pretty interesting.

We should start a thread. See what the other shooters here have. We'd probably catch hell for it though.
