Gone Cold

It’s as though,
The whole world has gone cold.
Is it just me?
Or hidden beneath some unseen fold,
Is there really something more?
How is it that one person,
Can seem so vain?
What causes one person,
To enjoy watching another’s pain?
We thrive,
On the discontent of others.
We strive,
To cause discomfort in those around us.
It’s as though,
The whole world has gone cold.
Is it just me?
Or hidden beneath some unseen fold,
Is there really something more?
He’s pushed around,
And yet we keep walking right on by.
He’s starting to feel numb,
And no one really knows why.
