Public entry Trip Report (5/26/2007 to 6/4/2007)
June 09, 2007 @ 04:12:02 am
Hey all

Just got back the other night from my annual trip to Florida and I have a trip report for
you all! I actually wrote stuff down this year, lol, so it’s longer. Hope you enjoy! :D

Speaking of being longer, this is about 5 and a half pages handwritten, so you might
want to make sure you don’t need to go make a bathroom trip or something first so
you don’t have to stop in the middle of reading and forget where you stopped off...
lol

feeling too good. (Don’t worry, I was feeling better the next morning, so I didn’t miss
any Disney fun)
11:47 pm Left Wal-Mart

Shortly after, we arrived at the hotel we had reservations at, which was All Star Music.
After we checked in, we headed over to EPCOT. We stopped at the Electric Umbrella
to get something for lunch, so I didn’t get to see the 2:30 set of Off Kilter, but I saw
the rest of the shows.

Billy Barnes was playing bass, subbing for Mark Weldon. The rest of the original
members were present. Some songs that were played (in no particular order) were
Steam Train, Dirty Old Town, Johnny B. Goode, Amazing Grace, Nova Scotia, Loch
Lomond, Goodbye Muirsin Duirkin, Misirlou (which somehow led into It’s A Small
World), Wild Rover, and Alive.

Randy Holbrook (guitar) sang Dirty Old Town, but I could barely hear him, and I was
sitting like right in front of him! But that’s okay, he did a good job anyway. Billy
Barnes sang Wild Rover and Alive. Instrumentals included Steam Train, Amazing
Grace, and Misirlou. I believe Jamie Holton (bagpipes/vocals/whistles) sang the rest
of the songs mentioned above.

Got kind of lazy writing the morning stuff down today, but here goes... lol

I got up a little late today, so we got a late start. Had breakfast at one of the
restaurants, whose name slips my mind at the moment, at Port Orleans French
Quarter.

After we finished eating, we went over to Magic Kingdom for a couple hours and
looked through some of the shops. Then, we again went to EPCOT to see Off Kilter.
My parents (the only people that came with me this trip) went to MGM Studios (I think)
while I stayed and watched Off Kilter the rest of the day.

I got to see all five shows on this day, along with all five original members, so that
was a plus. This day was the first day in about two years I was able to see all of the
original members in the same day, so I was pretty excited as well.

I don’t remember many of the songs Off Kilter played, but some (again, in no
particular order) were Here I Stand, Summer of ‘69, Metro Boys, Troy’s Wedding (I
think that’s what it was called), Rap, Leaving of Liverpool, Irish Rover, Mari Mac, Alive,
and Dirty Old Town.

5/30/2007
Today we just stayed in our hotel room and ate some of the food we brought along
with us for breakfast.

We then went to Animal Kingdom. The first thing we did was go over to Kilamanjaro
Safaris and got a Fastpass. While we were waiting for our scheduled time to go back
to Kilamanjaro Safaris, we went to go see a show about Pocahantous, which lasted
about 10 or 15 minutes, then we headed over to the Festival of the Lion King show.
After that show finished, it was about time to go back to Kilamanjaro Safaris, so we
went back over there and enjoyed our ride. When the ride let out, we went to Pizzafari
to get something for lunch.

Afterwards, guess who went back to EPCOT? :P Yeah, me and my parents basically...

This was the last day for me to see Off Kilter live for about a year. The shows on this
day basically made my life. All five original members were present, AND they played
my three favorite Off Kilter songs, which are (in no particular order) Follow Me Up To
Carlow, Here I Stand, and Summer of ‘69. Other songs that were played (yet again, in
no particular order) were Tell Me, Right Alright, Old Wolfstein, Loch Lomond, Fields of
Athenry, Leaving of Liverpool, Wild Rover, Dirty Old Town, and Mari Mac.

5/31/2007
Had breakfast in the hotel room again.

Then we were off to Animal Kingdom again. This time, we went to the area where the
dinosaur stuff was. Forgot what that area was called lol... Anyways, we went on the
dinosaur ride that’s kind of like the Dumbo ride in Magic Kingdom (if anyone knows
what I’m talking about at this point lol). Afterwards, we looked around at some of the
stores.

After we finished there, we went to EPCOT and walked around for a bit. My mom
really wanted to see Herman’s Hermits and Peter Noone or whatever, so we caught the
7:00 and 8:15 shows.

6/1/2007
At about 11:00 am, we checked out our Disney hotel. We went to MGM Studios after
we checked out. I was wanting to get a few pics of the Star Wars characters, but it
was raining, so they weren’t out for too long. But we did manage to get to look
through the Star Wars store that’s in the area.

1:24 pm Arrival at Garden Grill in The Land at EPCOT for a lunch reservation
2:51 pm Left Garden Grill
7:00 pm Mom wanted to see Peter Noone again, so we saw this show.
8:15 pm Peter Noone... again...
9:30 pm Left Walt Disney World
9:51 pm Checked into the same hotel we stayed in on 5/27/2007

6/2/2007

11:30 am Arrived at Downtown Disney. Looked around at some stores. Saw a [sort
of] friend of mine from school. :P

10:35 am Checked out of the hotel
11:25 am Gas Station
11:29 am Left the gas station
11:51 am Entered the state of Louisiana
12:55 pm After searching almost forever for a place to eat that the people weren’t
being dumb and retarded, we stopped at a Wendy’s.
1:24 pm Left Wendy’s. My mom kind of decided we’re not stopping in Hammond,
Louisiana for food anymore. No offence to anyone in the area, but the service there is
BAD!! The hostess(es) at the IHOP we tried didn’t even want to talk to us. Seriously,
that’s how bad the service in that town/city is.
2:35 pm Stopped at a gas station for a bathroom break (lol nice thing to be talking
about...)
2:43 pm Left the gas station
4:59 pm Went into Texas
5:01 pm Tourist Information Center
5:50 pm Left the Tourist Information Center
8:30 pm Arrived back home

So that’s basically how my vacation was. I’ll probably remember some more stuff later
on, but I’ll add that in if anything comes back to memory.
