HAVE to clear out back garden. HATE gardening. Whoever said it promotes inner harmony was obviously trying to get some other poor git to do it for them. The gardening programmes on t.v. are just a sham. They put their fingers into the soft soil and plant a little plug. Try that in our garden and your fingers would break off.

There's also the problem of the Scottish midge. As soon as I stick my nose into the garden, a group of them will hurl themselves en masse at my face like a cluster of kamizazes, and I'll end up covered in calomine for a week. The Scottish midge knows no fear, unlike myself and countless tourists who have tried in vain to fight them off. Hannibal Lecter couldn't scare these wee buggers....life is just a bowl of cherries...
