My best friend and I kind of like the same guy. I wasn't that surprised when I found out she liked him so I think I'm going to try and stop liking him now...

	Oh boy, been there before.. but why give him to her just because you both like him? After all, he is not 'married' to either one of you.. Why not just let him do the choosing, and the loser be a good sport about it?

I guess I should have told the whole story...I just met him last week but he hung out with us every day before he went back to New Orleans (he's there doing mission work). But she's known him for over two years now. I know she used to like him, then got over him, then became great friends with him, then decided she wanted to set me and him up...but then you see how she acts around him and I finally got her to admit that she likes him. So in all honesty, I'd feel wrong for liking him

Okay then, I suppose that does make a difference.
..Looks like she has a good friend in you..

But consider this: Now that she knows how you feel about him, it may cause some pressure in your relationship..

I hope not. but...

Well I explained to her that I value our friendship and I that if liking this guy would put a strain on our friendship then I didn't want to like him. Of course then she felt bad for liking him when I liked him but eventually I explained that it was unfair of me to like him when I knew that there was a possibility that she still liked him.
