Cousin's wedding
Today @ 09:02:09 pm 0 Kudos
Well, the last couple days have been interesting. This will definitely be the wedding to remember but no in the manner my cousin hoped for.

1) I got stuck in traffic for 4 hours because of some big accident that was about 5 miles up the road. It was interesting trying to find a place to pee on the side of the interstate that wasn't visible to other people.

2) My parents got a flat tire on their way to the wedding. They ended up arriving with the aid of a police officer that was nice enough to help them. My cousin and her new hubby got great pictures with the lovely men in black. (And trust me. They were lovely. )

3) One of my cousin's MOHs forgot to pack her dress, so at the last minute, a replacement dress had to be found.

4) The other MOH forgot her shoes, so those had to be replaced.

5) We all found out the night before during the fireworks display that my cousin's mother decided on a whim to get married for the 4th time. Of course, my cousin was very upset about that.

6) Then my cosuin's mother caused a huge fight at the reception. It all started over her bring 3extra people to the party. My mom informed her that they couldn't come and the woman blew up. She claimed that she could bring anyone she wanted because she was the MOB and could do what she wanted because she had paid for everything. I and everyone else knew that was a lie because my grandparents were the ones to foot the whole bill. Even though my cousin has been a pain in the last couple weeks, I felt so trouble for her. I mean what person would want their mother fighting with ANYONE at their wedding in front of her in-laws?

Well, now that the whole thing is over and I am relieved. Cuz was a big pain in the a** leading up to this but it was a little excuseable when everything came together. It would have been much better people could save arguements for less important events.

My family believes that I will be the next one to get married. Yeah right. I believe my cousin DJ will be next since he is crazy about that woman. But they think it'll be me sense I'm the closest one to sane (which is weird because you have to be a little insane to get married).

I'll be back one on Monday. Until then, I'll be spending it with family. My cousin is now back to her usual self and wants to spend time with family since they won't leave for their honeymoon until tomorrow. And I plan to hit the mall... and maybe the beach.

Repeat after me

It's not my wedding, it's not m wedding, it's my wedding.

Why do people (who are getting married) insist that everyone act like it's their ?

I love my cousin but I refuse to run myself ragged for her wedding. Why should I? How will it benefit me? All it will do is validate her behavior.

It'll all be over Saturday, it'll all be over Saturday, it'll all be over Saturday.

My cousin's wedding
July 01, 2008 @ 02:47:31 am 0 Kudos
I love my cousin. I really do. But she is being a real pain.

First, I have to buy a dress she swore I would love. That's a lie. Sure it's better than the other bridesmaids dresses I've had to wear but there is no way I would ever pick this myself.

Then I have to wear shoes that I hate because my shoes just have to match my dress. So now I'm the owner of shoes that I will never wear again to match a dress I will never wear again. Great. To top it off, the shoes are too small. She didn't ask me what size I really wore. She just caused my mom. And because she didn't want to risk our shoes being different from each other, she just had to handled all that herself.

Then of course, I fould out a couple days ago that I am not to do a thing with my hair. Her mom is a hairdresser so she will be doing everyone's hair. Ummmm... shouldn't MOB be more concerned with other things? I can't think of any right now but if I was the MOB, the bridal party's hair would be at the bottom of my list.

Then it's been a nightmare doing her wedding programs. For a person who went to college, her writing gives me a headache. The grammar, the spelling. OMG!! Everytime she gets another draft of thing, she is always pointing out things she believes is wrong. Nooo. It's not wrong. You're wrong. And you want to be a doctor!?

We're not going into how she feels the need to needle herself into my life. I really need to let that go. I know she was just trying to be helpful but grrrr .

The last straw lately is my nails. She actually wants me to go out and get fake nails just for her wedding. She says she wants me to get them because everyone else in the bridal party is getting them. #1: Everyone else in the bridal party are girly girls. #2: I had them before. I like my real nails better. #3: My job does not allow fake nails. They're a health risk. Why should I jeopardize my job and the health of my clients for her wedding? Who will actually pay attention to MY nails? We actually had a falling out about that Saturday.

*sigh* I keep telling myself that it will be all over on the 5th. That and things will be soooo different when it's my turn. Hopefully if she's smart, she'll keep her mouth shut during that time. If not, she better watch out.

Bursting my bubble
June 24, 2008 @ 09:56:56 pm 0 Kudos
I called grandma to tell her about my decision to go back to school to become a biotech lab technician and how excited I am to make such a move. I should have known she couldn't keep anything to herself.

Not 5 minutes after I got off the phone with her, I get a call from my cousin wanting to know what I planned to do with my certification when I got out. Hello. I haven't even started yet. Can't I at least see what the industry is really all about for I start thinking about making it a career. And then of course, she just has to tell me that she hopes I know how meticulous and tedicious the job is and that she knew how serious the job is.

Duh. Thank you for opening my eyes. Don't you have a wedding you need to worry about? Or are you upset that I'm "needling in" on your industry of interest?

One step closer
June 23, 2008 @ 11:00:21 pm 0 Kudos
Today I went to talk the advisor of the technical program I am trying to get into. I went to the school's advisor last week and got utterly confused. So I was glad that this lady was able to clear everything up for me.

The great thing about going was that the advisor looked at my B.A. transcript and elminated a lot of the program's required courses because she thought it was crazy for me to talk all these classes over again just for the sake of completing the prgram. So instead of the program taking 2 years to complete, I'll finish in a year's time.

That is if I was a full-time student though. I'll have to do half-time because I don't have the luxury of just being a student. Oh well. I'm use to my life being hectic. That's partly why I was so bored with the just work stuff. Wasn't challenging enough.

Of course, now it'll be changing trying to keep up with work and school on top of the "real world" stuff. I'm up for it. It's not like I have a family or anything else to truly worry about.

I have a crush on a coworker? Why wasn't I told this?
June 14, 2008 @ 11:07:52 pm 0 Kudos
I just informed awhile ago by a coworker, Stacy, that another coworker, Amanda, believes I have a crush another coworker, Mitchell. This is complete news to me. Amanda believes this to be fact because I always feel the need to be "normal" around Mitchell. Yes, I do feel the need to be normal around Mitchell but that's because he takes my weirdness more... to heart . Whenever I'm weird around him, he always gives me the same weird look my dad gives me. All my other coworkers just laugh off my weirdness.

I worked with him Thursday. The last time I worked with him was months before then. If I really had a crush on him, I probably would have been dropping by the shop all the time just to see him. Instead it didn't faze me. I work with him again this Thursday. Instead of jumping for joy, I'm wondering why all of a sudden we are being scheduled together.

The only peoeple I really get really get excited about seeing and/or working with are Amanda and another male coworker, Cliff. So wouldn't it make more sense to say that I have a crush on her and Cliff?

*sigh* This is so high school.

In reality, it's Amanda that has a crush on a coworker. She is so love with Lee that it's pathetic. I have a rule: Never show up at the shop on your day off unless it's to fill out some paperwork or to get your paycheck straightened out. I have never showed up at the shop on my day off all guzzed up just to talk and flirt with a coworker. I have other things to do.

This whole thing is so funny to me. No offense to Mitchell but he's just not my type.

Maybe Amanda is just trying to pin her own offenses onto someone else.

What part of "I don't know" do you not understand?

AND re-asking the same basic question fifty times is not going to change the answer!

Ferd's Blog
June 10, 2008 @ 09:22:26 pm 0 Kudos
Hi! My name is Ferd (aka Ferdinand, aka Ferd The Turd). I am a studly, large, black 4 year old neutered male cat. I am staying with my friend, Sheri, while my owner, John (aka Johnny Hollywood) tours with his band.

I would like to start off by saying that I hate Sheri, and she's a bitch. My owner lets me outside. Sheri won't. She keeps spouting some inane bulls**t about it not being safe to let cats outside. I plan on clawing her eyes out while she's sleeping, or at least, getting in the cupboards and messing up s**t.

My "roommates" are... a stupid cat thay call Stubbie. He thinks he's the s**t, but I knocked some sense into his dumb-a** real quick-like. The second is HUGE fat cat named Anna. All she does is sleep and bitch. Typical woman. The third is an ancient geriatric cat named Thomas. He spends his time sleeping, eating and s**tting nuclear waste in the cat box. I don't know what good he is except for fumigation.

So, I've spent my day being incredibly pissy. I snort and smack when I'm upset, so everyone's had a piece of me today. I hear my owner called and asked how I was doing, and that Sheri-bitch had the nerve to tell him I was doing fine! Fine? FINE??? I'm living in a house full of morons, and she says I'm FINE???

I'm going to crawl under the covers on the bed, get hair everywhere, and continue to be mad. Ferd out.

June 4th sucks!!
June 05, 2008 @ 02:55:02 am 0 Kudos
I got a traffic ticket today. 74 in a 55. $191.50. WTH? IMO, that road is too long for 55 mph.

Now I got to do that whole traffic school thing and I have never been a good test taker. And what sense does it make really? If I fail the test, I'll have to pay the fine on top of wasting my time and money with the damn traffic school stuff. So I could end up spending $231.50 trying to save myself.

Stoopid People And Their Dead Trees!!!
May 22, 2008 @ 02:49:44 pm 0 Kudos
My neighbor has a very large (a good 15 ft. taller than my house), very dead tree on his property. It's just on his side of the fenceline. Last night, we had a fierce storm with 70 mph. winds. Big chunks of his tree were breaking off and hitting our house. If the tree were to ever fall, it would ruin my house. It's too close to his house to fall on it, and the entire tree has started leaning towards our house.

I have mentioned on past occasions that he needs to remove it, but he keeps telling me it's OUR tree!!! When I asked him how he came to that conclusion, he said the tree leans onto our property, therefore, it's ours. ??? He said he's have it removed if we paid half of the removal costs! The real irony is, he works (on occasion) for a tree removal company! I'm sure they would do it cheaply if he asked.

I called the City, who said they could remove it, but don't like to mess with trees on private property if they don't have to. They charge the homeowners for removal, and they have a hard time collecting. I explained that the neighbor wasn't being cooperative, and I didn't see any other option.

I kind of feel like a bitch. Plus, I just noticed a mama bird has her babies in a hole up high, and I don't want them killed.
