My daughters going away with the school for a week, she's never been away longer than a weekend and she's with my mum.
I know this is about independence and she'll have a fab time but i cant help worrying about what can go wrong | |

She's going with your mom right??
You Mom raised you & you turned out pretty great so I really wouldn't dwell on the bad that may happen..
Focus on the fun your child will be having!!!

Easier said than done I know - but she is going to be in a safe environment, and I am sure you can call her every day |

We're not allowed to call unless theres an emergency, the teachers feel if the kids get homesick hearing from parents everyday will just make them feel worse...and their right but it makes me feel weird knowing she might be missing me and stressing about it.
I'll probably suffer more than she will lol. |

I am sure if she get to the point where she is really stressed (unlikely - they keep you busy) they will allow her to call home.
Where is she off to? |

She's 11 but you gotta understand we come from a rough part in London, until we moved rural recently she's never had any freedom so for me to let go in such a big way is really mind blowing. |

Über Master Debater 7945 points | I understand how you're feeling!
My son is 9 and I always worry when he's away from me!
Maybe you could explain your feelings to the accompanying teachers and ask them to keep an extra eye on her because she's not used to be on her own?
Hope you'll have a great time in London!! |
