I am the waffle chops!
Public entry SAT's
May 13, 2008 @ 07:57:36 am
My daughter is doing her SAT's in school this week, the run up to these tests has been a nightmare.
I've had to watch Kat's have sleepless nights, cry, throw massive tantrums, have diarrhea all because she's worried herself senseless over these poxy tests.
These tests have nothing to do with the kids, the kids are assessed daily in their lesson time, the teachers always know what level our children are at, these tests are about the teachers abilities and the schools performance so it can all be recorded in a league table.

I just sent Kat's into school looking very tearful telling me she's going to fail because all the other kids get brilliant marks in her class...the test has already set her up to fail if she's going in with this attitude.

Anyone else going through this?

I home schooled her for 6 months once, i'd get a private tutor in on a sat morning and she'd give me enough work to do over the week.
Kats had a reading age of 5 when she was 7 years old, i had her assessed after the 6 months and i'd managed to get her reading age up to 9 years when she was 8...just goes to show you the goverment talks out of its anal gland alot.

Cos i did the last home schooling in New Zealand...not that easy here, i have to get work sent to me via the council, which takes time to set up and i can't afford a private tutor at the moment.

It's s**t and i hate that i cant do anything!

So I came back too late discuss Nipple Klipple! Damn it. I did keep checking back intermittently but must have been deep into my tidying up when you wanted to talk. Sorry. Now I have to prepeare dinner and get ready for college so I can't even do it now, this just isn't on. No more studying...ever. It eats into valuable TFS and facebook time. By the way you were right, this is addictive and possible better than face book. I'm not telling anyone else about it tho!
