I am the waffle chops!
Public entry SAT's
May 13, 2008 @ 07:57:36 am
My daughter is doing her SAT's in school this week, the run up to these tests has been a nightmare.
I've had to watch Kat's have sleepless nights, cry, throw massive tantrums, have diarrhea all because she's worried herself senseless over these poxy tests.
These tests have nothing to do with the kids, the kids are assessed daily in their lesson time, the teachers always know what level our children are at, these tests are about the teachers abilities and the schools performance so it can all be recorded in a league table.

I just sent Kat's into school looking very tearful telling me she's going to fail because all the other kids get brilliant marks in her class...the test has already set her up to fail if she's going in with this attitude.

Anyone else going through this?

I agree hon, I couldnt get a over a B grade in English purely because of the cla** we was in, I know I did A+ work because I had a private tutor in twice a week and he assessed me as A.

I stopped caring after that

I did well in the SAT's I took in year 9 so they put me in the top sets for everything, I could do the work but when it came to the exams I didn't reach hardly any of my target grades. So meh

I don't blame you!! if they're gonna test people it should be a bulk standard test that caters for everyone getting progressively harder as the test goes on!

I think it's unfair that some people don't get taught as much because they're deemed to find a subject harder. How is that far, lets not even give them a chance! it's just because they can't have too many people get A's

Exactly, Some people are just made to be 'thick' when they really aren't. Yes some people are brighter than others but they often don't have any common sense. The schools apparently want everyone to succeed but i'm not sure that the government follows suit.

Oooh Mr Klipple, klipple the nipple, corrr, Yes I think we should blame him. I can still remember sitting int he new block with you and we were fawning over him. When we went to the upper school site I had, had all my hair cut really short and I saw him and said hello and fluttered my lashes at him and he more or less blanked me....wanker. I shall, however forgive him simply because he is lush. I tell myself it he blanked me because he didn't recognise me. Oh yes, Mr Klipple. Mmmmmm.

We are rather getting off the subject now though, so maybe you should start a new journal, dedicated to the man that was the Klipple.

I would hon but the amount of trouble you can get into now is just ridiculous, Kat's last school got truancy officers involved when she had time off of school even though i'd given them proof she had tuberculosis.
