And ended up leaving with a net pet! She's almost all white with just a smidgen of blue on her tail. I named her Nessa. She's named after a character from the book/musical Wicked (Nessarose - Nessa for short). Glinda just didn't fit her and she's not green so Elphie or Elphaba wouldn't work. She and Skye are getting along pretty well, although Nessa just sits in one spot for the most part and looks around. They're both eating though so I guess they're adjusting! I even went to the PetSmart closer to where I live and got a few new toys for their cage since I noticed there all the parakeet cages had these rope toys in them and thought maybe Nessa would feel more at home with one of them.

I'd originally wanted a green parakeet that I could name Elphie but the ones they had were all boys, except a more yellow looking parakeet that didn't look too healthy. And of course the PetSmart closer to home had 2 green parakeets that were girls but oh well. I just fell in love with Nessa! She's tiny and sort of docile but she's holding her own with Skye, who did everything she could last night to get Nessa to get off of her perch. Yes, Skye is choosing to be a bit of a bully right now, but I figure they're still adjusting to each other. At least I hope that's what's going on!
