A green or mostly green parakeet and her name shall be Elphie. (Hopefully someone who reads this will understand the reference.)

My mean girl Julia (a mostly blue parakeet) was found dead yesterday morning and her buddy Skye is not handling it well. She bit me quite a bit yesterday as I cleaned the cage and reorganized perches and toys and isn't eating much. So I'm hoping that a new pal will perk her up. Skye is about a year old now and a very sweet and vocal bird. I'm going to head to PetSmart tomorrow or Sunday and see what they have and their prices.

And yeah, Julia was a pretty mean bird (well territorial actually). If I just reached in my hand to clean something off or take something out she'd peck me until my hand was gone and then anytime I would take out a feeder to add more food or water she'd bite my finger if it got too close to her.

I found some photos I'd taken of Julia and Skye in the last year or so and made up a mini scrapbook of them with some thoughts/memories of Julia. I have a few of the photos on my computer at home I think, that I'll upload later on this weekend.
