| Overall experience? I'd say AMAZING. It was so fun. Whoever denies that moshing is the closest one can come to ascending to another plane of existence is dead wrong. Ozzfest in Phoenix, AZ was amazing. :D Lots of fun going on, lots of moshing. Almost got a fat lip from an indian dude with a fast elbow during Hatebreed, but it was worth it. Being knocked around in the pit was awesome, especially when you're careening almost every single direction and have no idea where you're going to end up. Think a carousel that tosses you in 360 degrees, only you're surrounded by a ton of writhing, warm bodies.
Fun fun FUN.
I am so sunburned and sore that I can't even move. But every damn second was worth it.
Hatebreed was the first show I saw, but GOD it was f**king awesome. I saw Lordie (that was .. interesting..), followed by Static-X (I was pissed - I got in the pit for "So Cold" and the guys cleared it - it was too light, and they wouldn't hit a damn girl), then Lamb of God (the pit was INSANE .. I got knocked around all over the f**kin place) .. and finally, the Ozz-man himself.
The thing with Ozzy is this - there's no room to mosh - you're just sitting there in dead awe of the metal deity. Zakk Wylde did a positively amazing rendition of the Star Spangled Banner worthy of Hendrix himself.
Fuck. Yes.
All in all, a good experience. It was damn hot, I got heat exhaustion, but hell. Yes.
