Mega Über-Meister 4617 points | My chiefs promised nothing bad would come of it. The wreck happened June 21st and my command is just now wanting to punish me for it.
My first remark to all the chiefs after the wreck was that I didn't have a cover for my uniform because I thought I was going to mass. Then they swore up and down that I wouldn't go and that I would be taken care of. |

They think I was trying to commit suicide in a government vehicle. I wasn't. I'm not suicidal at all! I have been very down the past year, because EVERYTHING has gone bad for me, and everyone knows it.
I am going to dispute back whether I'm allowed to or not. I just hate this command in general |

Über-Meister 1798 points | Just try to hang with it.
It will all be over eventually. It doesn't seem like it at the moment but, it WILL pass.
I know it's not easy. I've seen similar, -and worse.
Just grit your teeth and do what it takes to get clear of your enlistment as best you can.
You will look back on it some day and be pround that you endured it.
It all happens for a reason.
Sorry it's happening to you.
Good luck.
(Remember, it WILL pass.) |

Minister 11859 points | | first of all why would you want a discharge? and how did the accident happen? obviously they feel it was suspicious otherwise they wouldn't be putting you up against the mass. maybe you should think back on how it happened instead of flipping out. if you were tired or intoxicated then you should be dishonorably discharged. that's not good conduct and not a good example of what somebody in the service should be. if it WAS completely an accident then you need to get up your proofs and contest it. if you contest to stay in the navy you'll be much more likely to win. I know its not that encouraging, but I know where you're coming from. an ex of mine was dishonorably discharged for beating his wife and kids (long after I dated him). I feel that somebody in the services should be more responsible and therefore be more willing to accept the consequences from their actions. |

Everyone gets discharged sooner or later. I have medical problems that cause hardship. I am getting out on a medical disharge under honorable conditions.

Commander 99 points | | Its a Captains Mast not a mass. A ma** is a Roman Catholic service. You need to write a letter to your congress person . ask where you are from who that is or go online and look up the name of your representative. That is a federal representative not a state one. You can also send a letter to representative Kristen Guillabrand (name is spelled wrong). She is on the house armed services committee. She and your representative will get them to back off. The USNavy is the worst of the military with the excception of the marine corp. No branch of the service is more cla** conscious than the navy. Just look at the disparity in uniforms between the enlisted men and women and the officers. The enlisted wear old fashioned garb that was worn by the rabble of yesteryear and thats how the navy bra** want to keep it. The CPO;s act like they are officers too. They do not have to wear any dungarees. They used to during the war. After the war they act like quasi officers. If you served your time faithfully and did not get into any trouble like a court marshall for anything serious then you should get your honorable discahrge. You must make sure your discharge is honorable. I blame the US NAVY for being directly responsible for the assasination of President John F Kennedy. Heres why. Lee Oswald served his time in the Marine Corp and was discharged with an honorable discharge. After he left the Marine Corp he went to the Soviet Union to live which was his choice. What did the US NAVY do??? They changed his honorable discharge to a "Dishonorable discharge". Now that probably did not matter to him except he became disillusioned with life in the Soviet Union and wanted to return to the US. However the dishonorable discharge that the Navy gave him after first giving him an honorable discharge "black balled him so he could not find work anywhere. He tried many times unsucessfully to have his discharge changed back to honorable but the Navy refused. Who was the Secretary of the US NAvy then? Why at that time it was none other than the man sitting in front of President Kennedy in the limosine that awful day in Dallas, Governor John Connolly. Do you think that Oswald would have ever shot the President if he could have had his discharge returned to Honorable from dishonorable? He did his job as amarine, did not get into any trouble, did not kill anyone or get wasted on drugs. But the evil stiff armed US NAVY caused us to lose a loved and admired President and brought on the Vietnam War which Kennedy was going to prevent by withdrawing all of the US troops then in Vietnam. Why was Kennedy going to pull the handful of troops out? Because he invited General macArthur to the white House to ask him about what he thought about the Vietnam situation. MacArthur told Kennedy that he would not become involved in an asian land war because such a war was "unwinnable". if anyone knew about winning a war it was MacArthur. MacArthur may have been a blowhard but he correctly sized up the oriental mindset. He knew that Vietnam bordered China and that the Soviet Union would provide every weapon the North Vietnamese needed to defeat the US. And of course we see who won that war after all. So the US NAVY was also responsible for the Vietnam debacle. The military is stupid and always has been. We now have an Iraq war that we cannot win. We have an afghanistan war that we cannot win. Now we have Cheney and Bush dying to start a war with Iran that we cannot win. Go figure. |

No. I was on liberty. I had permission to use the government vehicle to drive to the beaches. I was stationed on an island and those are the only vehicles there.
I am getting medically discharged for a completely different reason. Still sucks though. |
