at the things people say.

My sis got married on saturday (yay)

These are things that were said to her or my father at the wedding.

To sis from blacksheep cousin (BS)...
"We've had better food at McDonald's." I should add the food was a beef tenderloin, a chicken breast with fruit salsa, garlic mashed potatoes, almond crusted green beans and fresh baked rolls. The food was fantastic. I just can't believe he told her that.

again BS to dad...
BS "Oh, are you driving home tonight?"
Dad "no, daughter x is."
BS "oh, you're smashed again tonight I see."
Dad -- icy stare to BS
BS "There is that dirty look again."

I should add, my dad does not "get smashed" ever!

Uncle (not BS's dad - diff side of family)
Bitched because his steak was not cooked to his liking. Yea, he sat at my parents table and my dad was so embarrassed at the way he treated the server. Apparently he only eats his steak if it's cooked to resemble a hockey puck.

I hate that.... there are sometimes when people should really just keep quiet.

And I suppose the best you can do to deal with it is the "icy stare".

Funny how your cousin thought it was a dirty look, she must get a lot of those and not realize what it is.

cousin is a he.
This is the cousin that threw the wine gla** at Christmas one year. He's barely allowed at family functions anymore. This was a "we have to invite him."

opps My reading comprehension skills are weak today.

I have a few of those cousins. I got out of it by not inviting any of my family, except my parents It was a small wedding though.

But I totally understand the "have to invite" group.

You're already planning an elopement when the time comes right?

I know exactly what you mean. Being a wedding planner I hear all kind of crap . We have a service that we offer where we put vid. cams on the tables and the quests are asked to record a message to the Bride and Groom. When we first started this I would never dream of usig the edit option but after hearing some of the comments I have now started to edit some of the things that were said. I always get the Bride to sign off that I can edit content that may be offensive.

I was so upset after my wedding in July because people just kept making references to money , oh that really pissed me off. Some fo the comments that were made at my wedding and reception

*Well , you snagged you a rich one this time huh Mickey?

*Hey Man did you get her to sign a pre-nump

* I bet that cost a pretty penny

*Wow they dropped some money on this shin dig huh?

Oh God I was so mad.

That's crap!
You don't have to invite anybody you don't want to; but especially a potential celebration wrecker!
I say, it's high time you all start treating this person with the same selfishness he treats others with!

yes, I'm eloping, none of this for me. I am not the country club type of person.

Wild, I'm surprised BS (cousin) didn't mention the money that was spent on this wedding. He usually brings up that we are "rich" and "have everything handed to us." Which is soooooooooooooo not true. We work hard for what we have. He doesn't understand that.

Some people are just tacky and I can't imagine the things you hear at weddings.

I spent two hours the other days taking very personal and sexual remarks out of a tape. It's just very offensive to me for people to act like this at a wedding.

Oh by the way congrats toy our Sister.

I'm always amazed at the selfishness of some people..

I didn't go to one very important wedding, and that is because when the mister said, "is there anyone here who objects to these two people being joined, let him speak now or forever hold their peace"...I would have stood up screaming and waving my hand..

Noo, better to not go at all, then to say something that might ruin someones's speacial day..no matter how 'small', seeminly, the remarks.

Well those are the only things that were tacky and awkward about the wedding.
Otherwise it was a very joyous event.

At my cousin's wedding one of the groom's cousins (mine cousin was the bride) got into a fist fight with a family member on my side of the family. The funny part is the guy that got into a fight was hitting on me and was taking me outside for some reason. I am actually glad the fight happened he was kinda creepy.

I actually had a thing happen at a wedding once where the brides Ex came into the church yelling that he still loved her. It was just nuts.

LOL! NO but I did think of that. I could'nt believe what I was seeing myself. I'd have to hurt someone for doing that at my wedding.

That's exactly why I'm a Hermit! I tend to make those people leave... now! And don't ever come back! Anywhere...
