I made a backup of all the files in My documents, including all my program set up files, and copied them over to my other computer, and then did a fresh installation of XP, and now I'm transferring my documents back onto my laptop. This ought to get rid of all the weird quirks my laptop had. Like How every time I'd start up my computer, the C: folder would pop up by itself, or how incredibly slow it was! I was reaching to pull boxes down to pack and all this stuff fell on me and my nose is bleeding non-stop and it feels like it's broken again.
Damnit, I'm gonna meet my new flat mates with a big swollen nose.

August 28, 2008 @ 09:10:08 pm | So today I had my pregnancy glucose test, Ugh! It made me feel gross. Not too bad, but still, that's a lot of sugar! 50 grams of glucose in one sitting! I didn't even know it was gonna be today, she just walked in with the familiar orange liquid and told me to start chuggin, lol.
My meeting with the nurse was funny! She swore like a sailor! "Oh, that food pyramid's all f**ked up, ignore this, ignore that, they're all bought out over there..." Definitely not what I was expecting to hear! lol. I agree with what she was saying about the food pyramid, I just never expected to hear that from a state employee, lol. She was quite the character.
Then we went to an all you can eat buffet, to I tried not to eat much carbs or any sugar, and tried to balance out the sugar with some salt to help my body deal with the glucose test.
Tonight I have a web cla** I need to attend. It starts at the same time that Barack Obama starts his speech accepting his nomination, Rrrr. I really want to watch that, but I've paid for these classes, so I'll be doing that instead. Maybe I can have the TV on in the background or something.
My husbands business is going really well, he has lots of appointments lined up for fixing people's appliances, so that's great 2 comments | Reply |

Well...Sort of. I finally got him back from the store today and they said it would cost £280 to fix his wee screen.  I really can't afford that, I've just started paying rent on my own flat, I'm moving out on monday My uni books cost a fortune - so I can't afford to pay £280 to fix an old laptop that'll die in a year or two anyway.
SO, my mummy bought me a new laptop as an early combined Birthday/xmas present.

August 21, 2008 @ 01:34:42 pm | Lesley made a silly mistake and dropped her laptop, Cedric, and now Cedric is broken.
Cedric's wee screen isn't working properly, the top half of it works, but the bottom half is completly white.
Cedric was sent to the laptop doctors on monday.
Lesley got a phone call yesterday saying that Cedric was in the laptop ward waiting treatment, it's either a lose wire which will take 5 mins to fix and 20notes to pay - or it's a damaged connection between the optics in the screen and the laptop, which;'ll be very expensive and would probably work out cheaper to buy a new laptop.
Here's hoping Cedric can be fixed soon. I miss him.
And I'm moving out on the 1st of september - he better be coming with me.5 comments | Reply |
