Public entry A Mouse in my House!!!
January 17, 2006 @ 09:04:11 pm
I couldnt believe it this morning when i went to get my sons clothes out of my Airing Cupboard ready for school!

Every single pair of his school socks! my knickers! and my brand new net curtains had been munched on!!

Somewhere lurking in my Airing Cupboard is a Mouse!!lol

I have emptied everything out of there.. and i have put a trap down.

But i still havent been able to catch it!!

He ran behind my hot water boiler!!

The traps been down now since early this morning! and he still hasnt taken the bait!

I have tried cheese and chocolate..

Any ideas??

we had a mouse last christmas and mum put peanut butter on a humane mouse trap and we caught it.... but we had to kill it coz the day before we'd tried using poisin pellets and the mouse ate them but didn't die! mouse murderers

You think he is gonna come out from behind a warm boiler to face a mad woman with a broom in her hand...especially after he ate your net cutains

GET A LIVE TRAP! SAVE THE ANIMALS!

I made my dad buy two live traps this weekend. They were 2 dollars each but they capture the mouse and keep it there until you release it in a natural environment away from your home. Why would you want to snap that poor mouse's neck?! These traps work well too! And they are reusable! You won't have to pick out a dead mouse body either!

They look like this, at least the ones I have used before:

yea, annie thats wat i said- a humane mouse trap must be the same thng coz thats wat we used to not have to kill the mouse. but we had to kill it anyway coz it had eaten poison and we couldn't let it into the wild coz it causes problems in the food chains

Some companies consider "humane" traps ones that kill them in an instant. Although this is better than letting them suffer for a period of time, I think it's even nicer to return them to a nice new home! They probably don't want to be in your house either! They'd rather be out in the fields playing with other nice mice

When we had mice we'd go every night and release them at a pond

oh right, na ours keeps the mouse alive - it coaxes the mouse into the trap and then they cant get out again afterwards.

Yep! A little box thingy. I let the mousey go and he was so happy and cute

My mommy wouldn't let me keep a field mouse as pet
