Public entry can anyone help me?
March 17, 2008 @ 02:19:55 pm
I've been living my house with my boyfriend for just under a year and i want to get on the mortgage before he goes away to Cyprus. I was wondering if any of you know how much it costs to do that.

Also if I wasn't on the mortgage but on the house title would that entitle me to anything if I was to leave?

You want to go on the mortgage with your boyfriend?

Would somebody else have to be removed or is it solely youy boyfriend on the deeds etc? Solicitors costs vary from company to company. The solicitors that I work in would charge you about £150 plus VAT.

Its worth ringing around a few solicitors to ask costs.

If its just him on there, and theres nobody to be taken off then that will minimise your costs because its less work for the solicitor.

With reference to wanting to know what your intitled to, that would depend on many circumstances. I would advise ringing around and finding out costs etc as said before, or even better, use someone who has been recomended to you. But I couldnt tell you what you would be entitled to.

Also its worth ringing around bc some solicitors do a free half hour consultation. Meaning you can go in and ask the solicitor any questions you may have ie how much you would be intitled to etc and its free for the first half hour.
