Public entry Someday my prince will come
April 25, 2008 @ 05:18:59 am

Someone should sue Disney for letting us females believe that there is a prince charming for each and every one of us. Like what do I need to do to find the perfect guy? Do I need to live with seven dwarfs? Do I need an evil step-mom and two ugly step-sisters? Do I need to find a beast and move in with him? Do I need to have narcolepsy to find him? As little girls we get so caught up with the world of fairytales that we expect life to be that way. Why is Disney sending us false hopes, when all I really want is to find that one guy that makes my heart race. But it seems like I've been getting a lot more frogs than the prince I was promise as a little girl.

But...not all guys are frogs, some have turned out to be some really cool dudes even some have turned out to be really good friends. I'm just sick of hearing those lyrics repeating themselves.

Some day my prince will come
Some day we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever I know

Some day when spring is here
We'll find our love anew
And the birds will sing
And wedding bells will ring
Some day when my dreams come true

All I'm saying is this Disney prints out this one day you'll find your prince and when you do he is going to sweep you off your feet and sail away to your happy ever after. But what happens when your so call prince was a frog after all? Your back to square one and you start to lose hope.

But thats just me thinking out loud

If he was a frog afterall, he never was your Prince. Can there be happily everafter? Absolutley, but it doesn't come without effort. Is there a Prince Charming out there for you? Yes. He'll be the right Prince Charming for YOU...which means he may have drak hair rather than blonde, wear t-shirts instead of blazers. You know what I mean. He may not sweep you off your feet, but he'll rock your socks off.

Yeah totally I understand. I was just talking about the girls who think that prince charming comes on a white horse because they watch these movies Disney movies and believe that, art mocks life. I aint gonna lie when I saw sometimes I wish my life were the movies especially one like the notebook. I just want one guy to prove to me that they are not all alike

respectfully, that's kind of like saying "i just want one black person to prove to me they are not all alike." if that is your view, then proof of the contrary may be very long in its arrival.

You'll meet him. Keep your heart open, but your eyes wide open. He'll find you when you are least expecting it.

That's what I'm saying you don't know. Because Disney dosen't show you that part of the happy ever after. For all we know prince charming could had knocked up both Sleeping beauty and Belle

The concept is to write your own story after that. Yea, alot of girls may fall for the fantasy, but truthfully, that's like me sprinkling glitter on my head and jumping out the window to fly off to neverland where I'll never grow old. You already knew that it was just a cartoon, you were just mad it didn't happen just like the fairy tale. Just like I'm mad about that pixy dust not working. Ouch.

Not mad, just thinking how they sell this happy ever after on us as little girls. So we get fooled into believing thats how life is gonna work for us. I'm more worried for the girls who havent woken up from this dry fairytales. And what about the fellas? Do they believe there is a Princess for them? Or just some cool chick who kicks a** and listen to punk music? I wanna know what kind of fairytales do guys have?

That's one of the things I find wrong with the world today. They empower boys by sending them on great journeys and adventures of the greatest imagination and girls just sit and wait for their prince charmings. Boys get to climb in trees and play with legos while girls have to wear dresses and play with barbie dolls, that teaches girls to be more worried about hair and makeup than the adventure of a day. I don't blame anyone but the parents for that because I never fell for no fary tale crap because (even though I watched alot of disney movies which I love, I always cry in Disney movies) my dad had me watch things like Star Trek and action movies. My favorite movie as a little girl was The Last Dragon (1985) Bruce Leroy was MY prince charming. SHONUFF!

Ditto!! The reasoning behind writing such deceiving fantasy books for children is just plain wrong, as a young girl we tend to believe in these fantasies and then we're hit with reality. Sure a lot of people will say well it's only a book for children to enjoy and use their imagination, bullcarp!!!! They are downright falsehoods that they put out and make money on at the expense of a young person's cost. These types of Books are Very Misleading to say the least. I know, I know, People are going to come on and say " Well what should our children read 'about the War in Iraq?'" but before you come on with such a comment really take the time to think about it thoroughly and you will see that these fantasy books are very detrimental to a young person's mind, in making them believe that these fictions actually exist out there where they do not " fact". Just like you I watched a lot of disney movies for a long time I wanted to be like Belle, But I learned real quick that life is not like the movies. Its sad that we teach young kids that the only way to live life if the males get the bread and the females stay at home. I was the type of girl who would rather play a pick up game of basketball instead of playing with my dolls. I agree that they teach girls to be more worried about their looks it shouldnt be like that. Should we blame the parents? Maybe, maybe we should blame the media because if it wasnt for the media telling the little kids that they better get the new hannah montana soundtrack on may 5 then the kids wont bug their parents to death to get it, and the parents wouldnt go to the nearest walmart to purchase that cd. As a little girl I watched movies like Star Wars, Speed, etc. And....Bruce Leroy is a pretty damn good Prince Charming.

I would rather have my kid learn about things from this world through a book like the war on Iraq, instead of trying to live life like a little princess. kids today know a lot more than when I was growing up. Why? because they are learning that stuff at school. The other day my ten year old sister came up to me and asked that famous "where do babies come from" and of course I was like some duck drops you off in front of ma's door and then we name you and its like BAM you grow up! And she gave me this "Yeah right" look and said "Thats not true because Jamie told me that babies come from mom you know what" We tell these lies about finding price charming, about life being all purple heart and yellow circles, we preach to them that the only way your gonna find him if you play dress up and act stupid. Why are we afraid of a girl who is pretty and still have brains, or a girl who would rather wear jeans a a tee with headphones glued to her ears why is she the ugly duckling? Its thw whole media thing, it makes me angry that they portray these 15 year old disney stars and make them look older than what they are, its sick. Its not only just females its also males. We picture our perfect males to have a six pack blonde hair blue eyes, mr. tough guy. I would love for my prince charming to be some guy playing his guitar, singing his sappy song into it for the passion of the music, not some baywatch dude looking for a hot date. So I agree I think its very misleading I think they do this so they can get some money in their pockets.

That's why my kids will never get to watch tv. They'll have to earn it, like, oh say... 30 minutes of tv for mopping the floor. Otherwise their off time is dedicated to their studies and hobbies. And when they do get to watch tv all they'll get to see is the discovery, history and maybe animal planet. Man it's really gonna suck for my kids
