I think how games affect you depends on why you game. If its just recreation, and you can walk away from it, things are fine. If it starts becoming what you live for, and everything else is less important, than its definitely changing you.

Of course, you can get hooked into things, and just be enjoying it too. The hardest thing to tell is if you are different in others eyes. Thats where having good friend who call you on it can be of value.
