November 30, 2008 @ 02:24:07 am | the first time i saw a dead body (other than at wakes) i was 16... my friend and i drove to school together and she had to drop her neice off at the babysitter before school... we walked in and no one was there... shouted and no one answered... jenny went back in the bedroom and walked out right away, saying that she might be dead in there... i set her neice down and we went back in there... jenny kind of prodded her, and i didnt even have to touch her myself to see when jenny poked her that she had died a while ago... its an odd experience...
the second was my grandma... she had cancer, was living at home, and my mom called me one morning and i skipped school to go help... she was laying on the couch... i dont know who had layed her out, but she didnt even look like she had died...
i though of this because the other night we had our first person die since i started my job... the guy came in crashing by ambulance... everything was all intense for like five minutes and then it was all over and everything slowed back down... they had me help clean him up for the family after the coroner went through...
its an odd experience and i learned two things... first, the calm that comes with death is an odd sensation... its not really gross to clean up a body, its just... strange... and slow... second, i could never be the doctor or charge nurse; the ammount of responsibility they have with death is a lot... there was nothing they could do for that guy, but they have made mistakes in the past that have led to peoples deaths; i cant imagine the guilt that goes with that...
anyway... i know how morbid that all was... but i was just thinking about it... so i posted it...2 comments | Reply |

November 25, 2008 @ 12:28:50 am | | it snowed for the first time this year!!!... im psyched... we got like 4 inches overnight... my kid got to play in it for the first time while i got a start on shoveling the driveway... he just loved it... and later, after he goes to sleep, im gonna smoke some and have a grand ole time shoveling the rest of it... i love winter!!!... 6 comments | Reply |

November 23, 2008 @ 05:39:28 am | my boyfriend is so damned lazy... seriously, i dont know what to do anymore... i cant get him to do anything but watch tv/play video games or sleep on his days off... and he does those things all night, so he's sleeping all day when our kid is awake... im so sick of it i could punch him... i really, really want to punch him... he says he works night shift so he wants to stay on that scedule, but he has a child and 3/4 days off in a row every week... its such bulls**t... and any time i try to get him to do anything im being crazy and controlling, but he literally does NOTHING, all the time... he wont even do anything fun... like the other night i was out at a bar and i ran into our old quad friends... it was one of their b-days... this is one of my boyfriends close friends, and he wouldnt even go, never even mentioned it... or today... i took justin to the pet store cuz he loves watching all the critters; i couldnt get jeremy to come... he was asleep by the time i got home cuz he was up all night playing a video game...
he calls me controlling, but i dont give a s**t anymore what he does; he just has to start doing something or i am going to have to hit him...5 comments | Reply |

November 18, 2008 @ 04:37:27 am | ive been in the er roughly 3 months now... i have not had one single shift where no one has come in for a suicide attempt/intention... i would have had no idea rate in my area was that high before... its really kind of sad... the other day i had to try 6 different hospitals before i could find an accepting behavioral health unit...
no murder attempts though... apparently our area is really sad, but at least its not violent...3 comments | Reply |

anyway... we had a critical chest pain come in last night... from the ambulance to the floor in 6 min... we just flowed through it all... we rock!!!Reply |

November 09, 2008 @ 04:10:42 am | my f**king neighbor needs to stay home once and watch her own damned kid... my f**king boyfriend needs to do something, anything, one thing other than play his damned video games... i just spent hours cleaning, scrubbing down our apartment, i woke him up with sex, cooked a whole meal from scratch, then cleaned those dishes... our neighbor had dropped off her baby monitor so she could go get drunk, then that kid started screaming for hours, so i got him back to sleep... i come back upstairs and my boyfriend is just playing his damn video game, which is pretty much all he's done all f**king weekend... even when he's sposed to be playing with our kid, hes just playing that stupid game... if i ask him to so much as take out the trash he rolls his eyes like its some huge horrible task...

the only crappy thing is that my stupid vacuum decided that it doesnt want to work anymore so theres all this glitter and fake snow all over the floor... grrr...
