| on sunday the cops came and knocked on my door at 4am saying that they saw someone breaking into my brothers truck and that they chased them through the backyard and they ran his plates and found out he had a warrant which my brother didnt even know he had cuz they never called him or anything to tell him that he had one and the cops said they wanted to know whos car parked in the back and said its my sons truck and they said chris shes like no jeff and he said he needed to talk to both of them and so she went and woke him up and came out and they arrested him right on the spot they wouldnt even let him get dressed they told him to put some shoes so he wouldnt get stickers in his feet he didnt even see it coming and he went to court today and found out that he is gonna be in there for atleast a year and he still has to pay this fine in tooele that he has to pay by march cuz he was arrested a few months ago cuz he decided to drive his truck drunk and got a dui and found out he had a warrant in tooele that he didnt know about either and so they arrested him on the spot and he spent 3 weeks and they let him out said he had to pay a fine of 1500.00 by march but i guess he cant pay that now either and so they are probably going to turn that into a warrant too cuz he cant pay it if hes in jail. | |

Debater 5826 points | | ya the cops lied my brothers truck was parked in the backyard the only way the cops would be able to see someone break into his truck is if they got out of the car and walked back there and saw them doing it. |

Debater 5346 points | I can relate. I have a similar story.
Last year I was on my way to work. I don't wear my seat belt. I believe in the "right to risk," but that's a whole different deal. Anyway, I got stopped. Pigs in my town are hard-ons (they even shave their heads ) so he was more than happy to cite me for no seat belt.
So he comes back after five and says "Well Randy, we've got a problem." Long story short, I had a warrant- for a ticket I knew I paid!
So I went to jail. The next day (my birthday, and during the birth of my niece) I appeared before the judge. I showed the proof I paid the ticket. Then her clerk pops up "Oh...yeah. He paid, but for some reason, he didn't sign a guilty plea." So I went to jail because someone didn't do their job in the court clerk's office. The judge swore me in, asked how I plead for the TOC (transporting open container). I of course said guilty. She said "Sorry about the confusion, Randy." I got an apology from a judge. How often does that happen? That told me somebody f**ked up royal. This is our government. We rely on everyday people. There's no perfect solution, but I hate the one we've got.
So know I do feel your frustration and anger. |
