Mega Über-Meister 3506 points | Anyo0ne from Colorado? March 04, 2008 @ 01:02:48 am | We have had a group of visitors from Colorado visiting Whitby in the U.K.
my 11 year old daughter is a singer and we take her to the karaoke each week at our local pub....She was a huge hit with our American visitors whom videoed her performing and they all said how she was going to be a big star in a few years....We were out again minus our daughter tonight(School night) and we bumped into our American friends at another Karaoke bar, they were disappointed not to see her performing and are flying back to the U.S on Thursday so will not get to see her perform again...
So if any video starts flying around of a little U.K girl in the Colorado area chances are its my little star.
BTW American people are pretty awesome! Reply |

Commander 96 points | A new day February 27, 2008 @ 11:24:03 pm | If there is something I love, it's a NEW day. After yesterday and my little guy with Down syndrome falling down the stairs... I certainly WELCOMED this morning! Although, I'm sure I drove my son crazy today as I felt like a mom with a catcher's glove on all day racing after my dare devil four year old.
I have found myself locking all doors, putting up gates, and basically following the guy around with every move he made today. Ugh! I think I've been more damaged by this incident than him. He's running around, climbing up on his little table, and just jumping like nothing ever happened. So now I'm a helicopter parent hoovering over him like a mother hawk.
My goal has been to get this little guy to Disney by next year. So I began trying to learn how to set up a business on the internet. Okay so I'm forging forth in the dark like a little train going into a very dark tunnel saying "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can... I will!"
Time management these days is the key, and it's not easy with an active four year old.
I haven't figured out this site exactly, but then again I'm not on here every moment of the day either. Tarotqueens is my business and I've been trying to learn how to jump through new hoops...but I'm like the little puppy who sits there and whines as they set the hoops on fire sometimes. I've believed life is what you make it, and I'd like to make it very pleasant for my little guy and that means finding my own niche and business. As I looked at my site, I'm proud of the pictures I took in TN of the water rolling over the rocks.... gosh that's my serenity... and peace. I sit back thinking I should have just been a professional photographer and writer. Oh it's most likely like being a poor poet. I love to write poetry and I've gotten some published, but chances are it won't be noticed until I die. Isn't that just the way it is for poets?

Commander 96 points | Thankful February 26, 2008 @ 07:33:25 pm | It's been a humdinger of a day! My little guy with Down syndrome fell down the stairs today. I moved into this old farmhouse which has two staircases... one in his brother's room. Of course, when an older brother has a drum set it's just a lure to little guys.
My little guy has iris and retina coloboma in his one eye. This means that his eye didn't form right in the womb. He can manage to get up the stairs fine, but going down the stairs is a whole other issue. I had thought about putting up a gate but there is nothing to really attach it to. I was thanking God today that the stairs do have carpeting on them, and I'm certainly thankful that my little weeble must have just wobbled down those stairs like a little ball. One very tiny little scratch above his good eye. I am SO THANKFUL he is okay.
My goal lately has been to get him to Disney by next year. Today I'm just counting my blessings!1 comments | Reply |

Commander 96 points | Peanut Gallery February 20, 2008 @ 01:35:50 am | As a mom of five awesome children, you learn to give choices. "Kids we are having water tonight with dinner... what will it be? Sink water, dish water, puddle water, toilet water, or flavored water (kool aide)." I've learned that you always have to keep them guessing what Mom will say or do next. It just makes life more interesting, and heaven knows they have certainly kept me on my toes!

Mega Über-Meister 3506 points | Is it sorted now? January 30, 2007 @ 11:51:30 pm | Well i've not been around so much lately on TFS.
The site was a bit slow and kept throwing me off, also my laptop was playing up and i have been busy decorating.
Anyway it seems the site is back to normal but a lot of my buddies seem to be missing.
Have a lot of people abandoned the site,or is it just quiet tonight?1 comments | Reply |

Mega Über-Meister 3506 points | My first grandchild January 02, 2007 @ 07:45:44 pm | Today is my sons 19th birthday and this afternoon i took him and his girlfriend for the scan of their baby,my first grandchild.
It's finally sunk in that i am going to be a grandma,it was strange standing in the same hospital in the same maternity unit which i was in 19 years to the day.It made me also realise how fast time flies.
I am really excited now and am looking forward to the birth in July.6 comments | Reply |
