I look after patients having your op all the time (colycystectomy) and nine times out of ten they can do it laporascopically so just four little holes and no big scar. It is only when there are difficulties that they have to go to an open coly. This is most likely why they need you to lose weight first cos it reduced the complication risk.

And if a gall stone cannoned into your liver you would probably pa** out. It is very rare and its more likely that it would move to your comon bile duct instead and you would become jaundiced so you'd know quite quickly.
