I'm going to Shawnee Community College in Ullin Illinois, I'm from Brookport/Metropolis "home of superman." We have a learning extension center in Metropolis so some ppl don't have to travel 25 miles or more to go all the way to campus! I got recommended to be the Metropolis Rep Student Senate for Metro center from the director at metro...I feel important hehe and it pays for half of my tuition and all my books! Full time is 12 hours and I'm attending 13 hours..so about 5 classes now, I'm going for Journalism..I'm not gonna go the whole 4 years, I'm gonna get my experience I need for writing for a newspaper or magazine "because you really don't need a degree to be a reporter." So maybe after this semester and next I will have a great portfolio to go along with my resume, and my Journalism teacher is going to write me a letter of recommendation "which she says is one of her specialities!" I recently got offer a writing/layout for a Shawnee National Forest paper "if your from southern illinois you know what that is,,,if not look up shawnee national forest "lots to offer here"...we are goin to publish 2 a year..one i'm working on now for fall and then after that one i will start working on spring/summer one..its a paying gig and it is only offered to me "managing/executive editor for the school newspaper" and this other executive editor..its a paying gig and it will be a definite foot in the door and a guarantee job on my resume to get in!! I have a 3 year old boy his name is Derick! He is the best thing in the world to me..He is wayyyy wayyy to smart! lol He starts school after summer of this year! he will be 4 in october..i'm excited that he will be learning but scared to "a mothers first school jitters for their kids." I love him!!!!!
