Public entry A new day
February 27, 2008 @ 11:24:03 pm
If there is something I love, it's a NEW day. After yesterday and my little guy with Down syndrome falling down the stairs... I certainly WELCOMED this morning! Although, I'm sure I drove my son crazy today as I felt like a mom with a catcher's glove on all day racing after my dare devil four year old.

I have found myself locking all doors, putting up gates, and basically following the guy around with every move he made today. Ugh! I think I've been more damaged by this incident than him. He's running around, climbing up on his little table, and just jumping like nothing ever happened. So now I'm a helicopter parent hoovering over him like a mother hawk.

My goal has been to get this little guy to Disney by next year. So I began trying to learn how to set up a business on the internet. Okay so I'm forging forth in the dark like a little train going into a very dark tunnel saying "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can... I will!"

Time management these days is the key, and it's not easy with an active four year old.

I haven't figured out this site exactly, but then again I'm not on here every moment of the day either. Tarotqueens is my business and I've been trying to learn how to jump through new hoops...but I'm like the little puppy who sits there and whines as they set the hoops on fire sometimes. I've believed life is what you make it, and I'd like to make it very pleasant for my little guy and that means finding my own niche and business. As I looked at my site, I'm proud of the pictures I took in TN of the water rolling over the rocks.... gosh that's my serenity... and peace. I sit back thinking I should have just been a professional photographer and writer. Oh it's most likely like being a poor poet. I love to write poetry and I've gotten some published, but chances are it won't be noticed until I die. Isn't that just the way it is for poets?

I have been a poet for 45 years, I'm 60 now and I write for the pleasure and release! Most
creative people are generally lazy when it come to self promotion. I can live with that. As for
photography I have won awards, but do it for self indulgence, I love nature and macro work. I
was a teacher for 25 years and know what little guys like yours are about. Be patient with
yourself.
