It's been a humdinger of a day! My little guy with Down syndrome fell down the stairs today. I moved into this old farmhouse which has two staircases... one in his brother's room. Of course, when an older brother has a drum set it's just a lure to little guys.
My little guy has iris and retina coloboma in his one eye. This means that his eye didn't form right in the womb. He can manage to get up the stairs fine, but going down the stairs is a whole other issue. I had thought about putting up a gate but there is nothing to really attach it to. I was thanking God today that the stairs do have carpeting on them, and I'm certainly thankful that my little weeble must have just wobbled down those stairs like a little ball. One very tiny little scratch above his good eye. I am SO THANKFUL he is okay.
My goal lately has been to get him to Disney by next year. Today I'm just counting my blessings!

my niece has downs syndrome, they are beautiful children, with a lot of love but you need eyes on them all the time, because have no sense of danger, our little one climbed on top of the stairs and jumped down it was a 7 ft drop and she only broke her wrist,it could have been alot worse.
