Okay -- about "Octo-mom" (Nadya Suleman) -- I agree with the rest of the nation that her decision of having over a dozen kids who she virtually can't support was unwise. However, some people acted more affected over the story, than with many people losing their jobs.
As my introduction was saying, aside from the possibility of paying taxes for Suleman's children, I don't think it's really our business, despite the mass media attention this has received. Also, the way people are expressing their anger, such as death threats, is too much. Though, I agree that this is probably the craziest and the most outrageous story heard this year, threatening her life doesn't solve the problem. It only makes it worse. Also, if she does die, those fourteen innocent, faultless children would still be in this world, needing to be cared for. So, for those who wish her dead, they should just get a life and stop being so mad over something that is not really their concern. They are more upset with Suleman than they are with the economy. Though, I won't send her money, I do think she needs help -- on her children and herself. | |

| I thought you all should read this. Looking at lesbianlife.about.com, President-elect Barack Obama picked evangelical pastor Rick Warren to give the invocation at his inauguration. Now, this guy not only supported Proposition 8 to stop same-sex marriage, Warren equates homosexuality, or anything near it, with pedophilia and incest. Also, what's strange to me, Obama invited a gay and lesbian marching band to the inauguration parade and at the same time, he allows an anti-gay pastor to speak. Now, I'm confused. | |

| As most people probably know by now, Thomas Beatie, the "Pregnant Man," is pregnant again, shorty after giving birth to his daughter, around this summer. When I heard of this the first and second time, I laughed hysterically. On another note, I sided with the ones against this publicity -- especially with a few members of my predominately heterosexual, semi-religious family. I mentioned this to members of the LGBT community and others outside of it. While some thought that was great or some took it indifferently, others thought it was crazy, others wouldn't call him a man due to the fact that Beatie was born a female, and some church-goers called this an abomination to God. I'm concerned with how people will treat his children as they grow up since this was publicize. Though, since watching "Oprah" on transgender people a few years ago, as an ally, I try to understand the transgender/transsexual community. However, with Beatie, I see this as a publicity stunt...and some gays and bisexuals agreed. Now, I don't want to fall into my Christian relatives apparent transphobia -- like I didn't like it when people threw their homophobic or biphobic comments on me -- but this is the craziest story I've heard this year. | |
