...I went riding today for the first time in, oh, 2 years or so. I went with my mom's boyfriend and his son who race in bike races all the time. Then there's me. I started out thinking "this is great!" and at some points thought "oh no, hill" but I got over it (quite literally) and continued on. So we reached our destination (15KM later) and stopped for a quick break. Then my mom's boyfriend said "alright, let's head back". I asked if we were going back the way we came which on the way there had a lot of hills that went down. He said "yup" and I almost collapsed. About 1/4 of the way back I had to take another break and his son went on ahead while the 3rd wheel here got motivated the rest of the way. Later I found out that on the way there we averaged about 24km/h but on the way back were only at about 15km/h I hate biking! When I got home I collapsed and drank 3 bottles of water.
