Public entry Convicted for rape
November 21, 2007 @ 08:31:44 am
I was shocked when I saw the news bulletin this morning.

A woman made an opointment with a guy to pick up some photographs. Apparantly she wasn't supossed to do that. I'm not sure where she was from, but there are rules there that state that a woman can only leave the house if she has permission from one of the men in the house.
When the others found out where she'd been, she and the guy she met were kidnapped. She was abused and raped 7 times!! She even told the reporters that after the first brutal rape she didn't even feel the rest anymore.
The men were convicted to, in my eyes, to small punishments. The woman however was convicted not only to 6 months in jail, but to beatings with a whip aswell, just because she left the house apparently without permission.

I couldn't believe this. I was litterally shocked and flabberghasted. That things like this acctually still happen somewhere in te world. Call me naïve, but I was kinda hoping the world was getting better... I was disgusted!
What's you opinions?

Obviously some Arab country, I know several of them use whipping as a punishment, and, for example, weird punishments

Id be interested to know which country.

Problem is, however wrong you and I think it is, thats the way their country works. Thats the rules. Im sure they would look at our contries rules and think exactly the same

Im not approving it, just saying.

Thanks, yeah that's the one. I hadn't heard the whole story this morning.

If that is the law there, and keeping Human Rights in mind, it should be outlawed to beat a woman just because she was with someone wthout asking permission. Come on, she was punished enough don't you tink so? Seven rapes... I know women who can't even live their life like normal women after one. Punishment enough!
