| I was just thinkin what the best feeling ive ever had. Over the summer I went on an 112 mile hike with 8 people I never met before , for 2 weeks, carryin 55 pound backpacks, i lived off dehygerated food, and purified water, and nutter butters. Woke up every morning at 7 am packed up the entire camp, and hiked for the whole day, until we got where we were supposed to be.Once we got there we set up camp, hanged the bear bags, made sure the food was up in the bear bags, and then we would rest. We played a card game called Earth or Rat Screw,we got really into that game. Then theres the rain... You'd have to hike in it and youd feel misserable. You would try to sleep but you cant cause you soking wet and its 40 degrees outside. Then you wake up sleepless and take down camp in the rain and the mud. You only had 1 good pair of hiking boots and they were soaking wet. One day we climbed a 12000 some foot moutain, and some how i ended up carrying a whole pack when no one else had to( took 1 for the team) Have you ever tried climbin a huge pile of boulders the sizes of basketballs, because that wat it was like. You could see for miles up there... And i pissed off it.. I took
a piss 12000 feet up. I took i nice long nap up there. But then it was time for the hike down, which was alot easyer but sucked really bad. At the bottum of that mountain is where we got are first shower in 12 days, and it turns out my tent parter hadnt changed his underwear since then. That whole trip I didnt have chap stick, and in the mountains you need that crap, or you lips turn to frosted flakes that had to be the worst part. When we got back to camp, we slept.. And when we woke up we packed and left, but right outside of camp were 4 brown bears, well we wait, and waited, then said f**k it, and walked right though them.
Then we finaly saw the sign for the last camp, once we got their we took showers, drank root beer, and rested.
Then on the last daay we hiked to the bus stop and we left.
After 2 weeks i finaly looked in a mirror and eat a real meal.
That 20 min bus ride had to be the best time of my life. |
