Okay. So, my old roommate wants me to pay him for the security deposit that he put down on the apartment. Now, this deposit was placed last december. He hasn't been living in the apartment since August. He moved out and found me a new roommate because he was going to live in Northern Virginia. This is the same roommate who couldn't help me in August because his dog ate his half of the rent money...also the roommate who took my DirecTV receiver...
Now, I don't feel as if I should pay him the deposit back. I'm doing him a favor by taking over the lease, and not making him sign out of it. I also ate August's rent and had to pay the whole thing by myself because of his dog.

Even if he wanted to press charges, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on because he signed the paperwork. |
