I'm a military brat who joined the U.S. Coast Guard and mainly work search and rescue. I love the military because it gives me a chance to travel all over and see new places. Much better then sitting behind a desk at some company in the same town for some 30 years. I mean how boring would that be? I'm in the middle of nowhere right now...didn't really pick this location but I guess it's better then being sent over to Iraq so can't really complain.

Oh, and I'm not from Michigan...I'm just stationed here. I'm actually from Washington State, specifically Lakewood. And yes, Washingtonians do love the rain and Starbucks is on every street corner.
