Enablers really bother me. Why the hell can these people not see that by enabling someone they are promoting whatever behavior this person is exhibiting , therefore making it easier for this person to carry on with whatever it is that they are doing to destroy themselves. Why can't the enabler just get some balls and say "wake the f**k up, you are just making excuses and I do not buy into your crap"? Why can't the enablers try to get help for this person to break the cycle? If you love someone , sometimes you have to try the old "tough love card" . Stop friggin making excuses for this person. Can you not see that is why this person is not getting anywhere in his life because you just always make excused for him or excuse his behaivor because of this or that?

Wake the f**k up and see that you are helping him destroy his life and stop attacking the ones of us that have the balls enough to force him to face reality head on.

	WELL SAID!! I was guilty of that for years then finally had to use 'Tough Love' on the ones I loved. Very hard to do, but at least if something real bad happens, I can honestly say I did NOT contribute to it in any way even if they don't like me for not enabling them any longer.. I sleep just fine now with no guilt of enabling anyone!!!

I know it's a hard cycle to break but if people could just understand the power that we gie them by enabling them. People look for acceptance anywhere they can find it to validate the things they are doing. I just get sick each time I think about certain people and their enablers. They bitch and moan because of something this person does but you're not allowed to open your mouth about it. I always end up opening my mouth and saying "well you helped him obtain his goal by enabling him" Of course then I am the bad guy.

	I feel your pain. My mom totally enables my aunt My aunt is allowed to do whatever she wants, and to be mean to me cuz 'that's how she is'. Like she has no personal responsibility

See that is exactly what I am talking about. The original post was about my6 ex brother in law . He is hooked on anything he can get a high on. He has not h ad a job in 23 years and he only in his 40's. He got married once , they had three girls all very close in age. He and his wife divorced and his parents ended up adopting his kids and they raised all three of them and have kept him up for all these years. I'm just sick of him and I'm sick of the way they enable his no good for nothing ass. His parents both get prescription drugs and they give them to him. This is only the tip of the iceberg with him and if I get started I'll go forever but it just pisses me off. He needs to be held accountable for his actions and his life and he needs to stop depending on his elderly low income parents.

It doesn't matter what he does they make and excuse for his sorry ass.
