My wife is going through a physical & mental breakdown, plus on top of already diagnosed "fibromyalgia" has now been told to have "arthritis" & "spongelitis" (spelling? ) so I asked someone what "spongelitis" entailed & the reply I got was: "You know I would really appreciate it if you did not PM me anymore,

thanks"

Well I thought this person was fair, knowledgeable & honest.
Well that thought makes me a prized pillock & that member about as fair etc.... as a turd of a person with major gut problems. You live & you learn, well that member not included.

Why would you PM someone on TFS who is not a doctor and has zero medical training for medical advice?

You should really be speaking to a doctor about your wife's unfortunate medical conditions, not random people on TFS who are not medical professionals.

Still, it never hurts to communicate with people. What's the point of having forums if you can't talk/write to other people? I also don't understand why people get so upset about receiving PM's?

I hope you're able to find some answers about your wife's illnesses. Have you tried looking things up on the Internet? Maybe her doctor could give you some literature to read?

So judging by your thread on the Barack Obama pre & post vote situations plus the 'links' you put on there, you are a politician?
And I would REALLY appreciate it if you did not post on any of my journals again.

THANK YOU!

God forbid I make a point

Seriously, don't take specific medical advice from random strangers on the net who do not have medical training - especially via PM where someone who knows better might be able to correct horrifically or dangerously wrong information or advice. Seek advice from qualified professionals.

Political discourse is a very, very different situation. Talking about politics does not have the potential to hurt or kill people or influence life-altering personal decisions.

I understand you're scared and upset about your wife's condition. I am sorry she's not doing well, and I wish both you and her the best of luck. But in your condition, do not turn to random strangers on the internet with no medical training who are not doctors for questions and advice about serious medical conditions.

Anything you post on this site , unless it is posted under friends only is fair game Mick . You've been around long enough to know that. You don't want Jon posting in your journals make it a friends only journal (I'm quiet sure he's not on your freinds list) or block him at least , but do not demand someone not to post in your journals because TFS is a public forum .

I sympathise with your situation but you have to play by the rules as does everyone else.

In fairness my grief with jonnythan was about PM I received from him. His post on here on the illness IS helpful & I thank him for it, thank you other posters on here also & thank you lilbear & others for well wishes to Jen.
