There is something incongruous about there being a giant muddy hole inside of one's home.

As it turned out, there was a leak underneath our apartment, and the only way to fix it was to get to it straight down through the floor. The pipe was bent. So now they've fixed the pipe, and filled the giant hole back in with cement. There is mud and cement powder and rubble littering our house, lol.

Fortunately the apartment managers let us stay the night in the empty apartment directly across from ours, so that was nice. It's kind of weird seeing an apartment that's identical in every way to your own, except reversed.

Recently someone across the hall from us moved out. The maintenance guys left the door open after repainting it and I poked my head in to check it out. It was exactly the same as our apartment but flipped laterally and completely empty. Not even any carpet.

It was like stepping through some weird portal into my apartment post-apocalypse.

And pipes worry me too. The managers have said something about water dripping into the apartment below us a couple of times. I'm afraid that one day I'll get a call saying we have to move so they can tear out the floor. Yeesh.

I don't really have anything to add, I just wanted to say that the background picture to your journal is gorgeous.

It is, it's like a weird alternate universe or something, lol.

I hate moving, we're probably moving next month down to the San Diego area because there aren't enough people around here to support my husband's business. At least it'll be warmer in the winter. But moving sucks. It's all the little crap that adds up that annoys me.

Thanks I love the colors. I found it with Google's image finding search tools, you can look up images based on color, size, subject, etc, it's awesome.

1) San Diego is supposed to be a great place.
2) Though it's a pain in the ass, think of moving as a chance to declutter. Rather than packing it all up, toss out or donate everything you don't really need. I love that part of moving-- getting liberated from any accumulated crap.

Oh, I do, it's annoying going through it though. One time when we moved, my husband got a bit overzealous and trash-happy, and accidentally through out the title to his car
