A Letdown
I rented this film with high hopes, I expected a lot of action, a good plot, good acting, and more than anything I expected to be entertained. Unlucky for me though, I got none of these.

Where should I start? How about with the extremely boring story, filled not with huge plot twists or even interesting characters, but with boring conversations that go on way too long, and people getting randomly killed. Not my idea of a good film. The plot itself was very weak, I wasn't even sure what was going on half the time.

The acting was average at best. Each actor appears to be bored with their roles (which could explain my feeling towards the film), and not even Christian Bale looked like he was having any fun. Not even the bad guy was truly evil or memorable, he just made threats and talked a lot. There are plenty, "What the?!" moments in this movie as well. Like when that guy was burning in the wagon, shouldn't he have been screaming or something? And when the doctor had to take the bullet out of that guy's stomach, come on, it had to have hurt enough for him to at least grunt in pain or something.

Maybe, I thought, if there was a good amount of action I could've enjoyed this movie more, but no. The only real action is at the start and at the end. Don't even spare a glance at this film if you expect an action movie.

Maybe, if this movie had been a little more focused, and if it would've gotten rid of the useless conversations, it would've been better. Why not a one star rating instead of a three star rating you ask? Because it's still not a bad movie, there are some neat effects, and the setup is pretty interesting. But even that can't save 3:10 to Yuma from being overlong and convoluted.
