A grand slice of libertines
Usually a greatest hits is something to be frowned upon, released by continuing artists that then release afterwards. Not that there is anything afterwards, it just leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth, as if id been had by there record label.

The Best of the Libetines though feels like the rocky ride the band had during there time together. Starting with some of the best of Up the bracket and unalbumed music, the greatest hit brings a good enough mixture of old later and unreleased.

The album actually feels like there telling a story, starting off with the hap hazard mess around then by can't stand me now, the first off the self titled second album, there at each other's throats. By the end that's it, its over.

personally enjoyed this though i think it would be a hard album to flog to someone who already has both albums as it doesnt have any super extra's. If however you want a guide, one album to tell you what the libertines were about, this is it.

Either that or you must love Carl Barat so much you faint when you see him on t.v. So its not really a c.d for old listeneners though it is the best for new, so 4 out of 5 for me.
