21/M/los angeles, California Join Date: Dec 2007 | throughout the last decade conspiracies have gained more publicity than any other period of human history. there have been theorists in the past, extending from philosophers to public figures. Why however, is the conspiracy circle growing so rapidly. The internet boom has allowed many to put their ideas and theories into circulation, gaining what could be called a "fanbase". People from all around the world are become increasingly interested as new researchers and alternative media groups work away.
Either way you look at it, it's apparent that people at large are easily persuaded by flashy; interesting topics. one can either assume that people have become easily persuaded and downright gullible, or just devoutly interested in the global situation. I believe both are reasonable explanations for this cultural calamity.
the popular media has been forced to address the situation, dismissing any notion of conspiracy as, for lack of a better word hocus pocus. its clear that some shift in human perception has occurred. most likely fueled by technology and the increasing ease of communication between societies and peers. The real question is, why the sudden split in the perception of the masses. every day, more and more people are taking a stance - abandoning blind patriotism and seeking answers from their governments. yet many tightly grip their flags and replace logic with faith. These governments refuse to answer and continue their agendas, most of which unbeknown to the public (but heralded for the "good of it" . People are gaining information at a rate never seen before. Their emotions have become tied to ideas and events. They feel obligated to somehow become involved in the worlds' affairs. The fact that the medias preoccupy the public with little more than scandal and celebrity stokes the flame for theorists.
So why exactly the conspiracy hype? Why from suburbia to the cities, are cultures clinging to underground belief. is there a human ability to discern the truth from information soup, or is this merely a fad?
