I make roses and petals out of gum drops. They are really beautiful and everyone loves eating them. So easy to make. Flatten and roll out sprinkling sugar on them so they don't stick to the rolling pin. To make rose, fold over once and then roll from one side to the other and pinch bottom. Cut petals from green drops.

this week we are making a greeting card in icing sugar and putting sweet peas through the front window of it,it will stand in the centre of a celibration cake and will keep for a couple of years before it goes soft,we still have a good class of 13 people so i must be doing something right ,as im doing it for the people in my area to come and have a go, we are getting some funding in two weeks,to go for equipment that will stay with the class for anyone to borrow,as the tools are expencive

That sounds amazing u should be really proud of yourself, I started doing cake decoration courses when i was just 16 and learn't novelty cakes and sugar flowers mainly, it's really fun but i have never thought of doing it as a job as I want to travel and love doing my art work too, i still do bits and pieces for family and friends though! I build up my collection of decorating products slowly but as a hobby i have all the time in the world i guess! I'm really glad everythings going really well for u and before you know it you'll be a pro at the the teaching thing!

Just today I saw an item on the local TV news about something they call edible clay. It comes in different colors in cubes. You mold it into any shapes or flowers you want and decorate cakes with it. Of course, It's not really clay but can be molded like clay. I don't know any other details. I think it's a new thing here.

hi my friend ,yes you can get it in different colours here or you can mix the colour in yourself, there are different types of paste some for flowers and some for modeling people and any item realy ,whatever your hobby is can be modeled and placed on a cake.when doing the flowers it has gum tragacanth added to the paste which comes from a gum tree and is edible that hardens the flowers off. i made some flowers for an american that wanted them for her wedding, there are no bakers in paris that do them ,i made some for a girl name itre who was getting married that lived in paris she said i should set up a business there,as my daughter does tatooing and they wanted me to sell the house and us to get an apartment there ,but i could not as my hubby does not ever go abroad and races pigeons
