something ive read that i believe has alot of meaning... its strange how when your really younge you cant wait to grow up.. but once everythings changed you want to be a child again that doesnt know the difference between reality and fantasy.

Your best friends become your worst enemy.
Your boy friend becomes a prick.
Lollipops turn into cigarettes.
The innocent ones turn into sluts.
Home work goes in the trash.
Mobile phones are being used in class.
Detention becomes suspension.
Soda becomes vodka.
Undies turn into g- strings.
Kisses turn into sex.
Remember when getting high meant swinging on the playground?
When protection meant wearing a helmet?
When the worst things you could get from boys were cooties?
Dad's shoulders were the highest place on earth
and mum was your hero?
Your worst enemies were your siblings,
race issues were about who ran the fastest.
War was only a card game,
the only drug you knew was cough medicine.
Wearing a skirt didn't make you a slut.
The only things that hurt you were skinned knees
and goodbyes only meant until tomorrow?
And we couldn't wait to grow up.

What you guys and girl think?

I agree in every way, we lose so much as we grow older, though we don't think so as we actually do so. It's sad how we lose such simple pleasures and become stereotypes. It's also sad how we lose so much innocence, I can't even say 'pose' (as in yoga pose) without someone giving me a suggestive look, I wish very often we could turn back time in our minds and at least become somewhat of a more decent society.

Very true.

People are in such a rush to get older, quicker.

You are an adult for the majority of your life. People should take time to stay children, and be innocent with no responsibilties.

Although its sad to say, I dont think childhood will ever be how it was. The world is more sophisticated, the children are nastier and the pressure is more intense.

it made me realise just how much easier life was as a child where you wasnt emotionally hurt... by things that happen in the world because you either didnt know about them or just didnt understand them..

Yet we all presume that childhood is "easier" with no "emotional hurt." I should hope we realize that there are many people who were abused as children, who would likely whole-heartedly disagree that change is allegedly bad, or that they had it better when they were younger, etc.

I am quite glad that I am currently an adult and would never wish to revisit my childhood because someone presumes that timeframe is allegedly easier/better for everyone.
