do you think there should be a referendum and if there is will we get independance, what will happen if/when we do , will europe be as kind as we think

Independence from what is the question?

The right to self determination is no longer an option in the modern world. If there's an oil spill in Canada the price of your heating oil goes up. If a banker in Japan fiddles the books your savings in the local building society crash out of sight.

is scotland becomes independant, i dont feel that the rest of europe will be as kind as you think they are. the english/scotish relationship may deteriorate...i love the scots

independance seems good though

Whatever may have been the case in the past, I think Scotland probably gets more out of the England-Scotland relationship than England does.

The impression I get is that the ratio of taxes to costs in England is higher than in Scotland. Meaning that independence would bring a net drop in the balance of the coffers of Scotland.

back to the thread:-If Scotland,and Wales should suddenly get independance,and i dont care,1 way or the other,good luck to them,will all the scots and welshmen living here,have to apply for citizenship,in the greatest country in the world,no,i doubt it,we welcome people from everywhere,even though they teat england like crap!
Ireland should be independant,anyway,we treated them shamefully,over 400 years,and will surely continue to do so,bobbo
