Making light of the heckler with quick wit would've gone a long way toward showing people that he isn't a humorless robot, and would have removed the heckler's power of intimidation. Not everything has to be a Santorumesque confrontation, and running away just shows that he cannot take such trolling in stride.

DSG, you know that I have been in conversations on many topics with ole spinkie , if I were to hazard a guess I'd guess at least 45 % of the conversations are in the racism forums . So when I said If she ,,,

i have witnessed to many times her posts trashing something or other the white American citizens past and present , and I have witnessed and been on the receiving end of her emotional passion' in defence of any and all black Americans past and present.

There are only two white people I have any recall of her consistently being not offended by, that would be her mother and an Irish boyfriend she tells about.

Yes, well you are partially correct in stating this. It is only when the racism is white on black that peaks her interest. If it is black on white ignoring it is her first response , if pushed she will say all racism is wrong.

So I checked out the original link again.

A female heckler loudly accused Romney of being a "racist" for his stance on immigration reform. (Side note: While latinos seem to be the largest group of immigrants, immigrants come from a variety of ethnic groups).

The woman repeatedly yells "Mitt Romney is a racist!" ...drowning out Romney's comments and those made by Giuliani (I guess he needs balls also).

"While Romney did not acknowledge the protester"... (was he taking the "high road"?) ...the protester continued to assail Romney, bellowing expletives ...including "F*** you, Mitt Romney!" (Very adult like and productive behavior).

So, Romney should have "grown" balls and done what?

a) had a calm logical and civilized conversation with someone who is (according to the media) screaming and cussing at him.

b) walked over to her and punched her in the face.

c) walked away (which he did).

???

I do not like Romney as a candidate, but realistically what were his options.

Now, if someone had done this to Obama on the very same day... what would have happened? Maybe the secret service or other law enforcement would have escorted the screaming woman away from the scene... or ... what?

What would Obama have done differently?

As a follow up thought, maybe we ("we" being the people that do not like Romney politically) should present and argue against his political policies... as opposed to his "failure" to argue with some heckler.
