Both Kida and Sukira looked at Gan unsure of what to make of the situation. "My next destination is Dasan, just beyond the Cliffs of Freedom. I travel there in search of...something. When I find this something you will know what it is. I will be leaving now." And so with that, Gan turned around and started walking towards the ominous looking cloud that lay many miles ahead in the distance, just beyond the horizon. It was getting dark and Gan did not want to get trapped in the forest that lay ahead before Farnham. He would let Sukira and Kida decide there and then if they wished to come, but he would not stop for strangers.

sukira ran quickly up to Gan. "can i know what this something is now? its awful to not know things, drives me insane..."
she heard kida slowly walk up on her other side.
"this something sounds awesome!"

Gan continued on his way and was nearing closer to the edge of the forest. Surprsingly, Sukira had followed him a long way from the tall grass. Kida however kept a noticeable distance between her and Gan.

Well, whatever this thing is, it better be worth going through the cliffs of freedom. A once beautiful place is now made desolate by the evil that lurks there. We will be facing some formidable foes Sukira, if you haven't already, I suggest you learn to fly.

Sukira stopped suddenly. enemies? learn to fly? she had never needed her wings before; she had only used them for show and to scare off vermin from eating her food. but she had to learn to fly? now?
well, she had to... or she would have to face the deadly consequences. she caught up with Gan and Kida and began to walk slowly after them.

"Tomorrow morning, we may be able to teach you some techniques. Not proper ones for flying of course, as we have no wings, but ones that may aid you in at least defending yourself." Gan and Kida walked slowly into the thick and dark looking forest. Sukria hesitated as she watched her newly-found friends start to disappear into the darkness.
"Wait up!" Sukira said hurrying along. The three ventured into a place no being ever wanted to be in.

she watched the moon get engulfed in trees and clouds. it looks like the brink of a storm. she could never be sure of things. suddenly, she got an image. it felt as if she was high above. she could see the trees below, swiftly moving past. within a second glance, she could see the forest floor, moving as fast as if it were a bird.
she shook her head and looked up, seeing a hawk, watching the forest with interest.

as they settled in for the night, Kida noticed that the clouds had gathered thick and dark around the sky. "we must find somewhere dry to stay."
the others looked up, agreed, and followed the beautiful lioness to a small cave. within minutes, rain was pouring down, thunking on the dusty ground and thick leaves with loud noises. Sukira watched her new found friends curl up for the night, separated from each other and lying down on each side of the cave. she wondered why everything had to be so separated. why was everyone away from others?
she walked to the opening of the cave with a sigh and tilted her head to the open air. the land smelled wet and cool, so she pushed her head out into the free world and felt the water sink into her soul. it felt good, really good.
when she was thoroughly soaked from the nose to the base of her shoulders, Sukira went back in and curled up next to a rock wall, desolate from the others.

Once the night had settled in, Gan changed into his demonic form and the mysterious material that protected him appeared. Because Sukira had not fallen asleep yet, when she saw this form, she was petrified. She backed up far away from Gan and was restless trying to get to sleep. Gan had already fallen asleep and so could not comfort her about the form that he had failed to mention to the others.
