Very true. I don't live in the US, but I have heard that it's still very segregated and I think that the aftermath after Hurricane Katrina proved that instutional racism still exists. A terrible shame considering the US is one of the most influential and powerful nations on the planet!

I don't think htat's racist. I think that's just sexual preference. In other words, it's not something you think about. You aren't avoiding any one color, you're just going with what you're drawn to.

It's worth saying that being racist doesn't mean you "hate" or think less of people of a particular race.

Being racist involves any sort of judgment based on race. It could be something seemingly positive such as "Chinese kids are really good at math."

It's racist any way you slice it. Any sort of prejudice, discrimination, or judgments about individuals based on race are racism, plain and simple.

I don't know about the Chinese bit, but on tests don't males tend to excel in math generally? If so, to state that wouldn't be sexist, would it? I mean you aren't saying females can't do math, only that males in general seem to do better on tests.

Blacks tend to score lower on IQ tests too, but it's not because black people are "generally dumber" than white people.

It's sexist to say that females are worse at math. Some of the most talented mathematicians I've ever met are female.

It would be fair to say that, on average, males do better on math tests than females, but that statement does not apply to individuals and doesn't say anything about actual ability.

Just to reiterate, I was NOT saying women can not do math. I'm aware that there are brilliant female mathematicians. Was only saying that normally males score higher on math tests, for whatever reason.

Racism is just that, against a race, hence racism. Prejudice can be against any person or thing. You can prejudice against a sex, religion etc.
